Compromised Forensics

Provision:
An Officer is guilty of an Offence if they:

  • Handle items without appropriate PPE/Gloves
  • Incorrectly bag evidence
  • Allowing members of the public to “just have a quick look”
  • Place evidence on the bonnet of a patrol car and driving off
  • Uses the words CSI or NCIS on site

Aggravating Circumstances:

  • “Forgets” to book a Forensic job
  • Sniffing or touching evidence “to see if it’s real”
  • Claims contamination “adds character”
  • Attempts to fix contamination with hand sanitiser
  • Blames the wind
